The college basketball season is underway, and that means it’s time for Jesuit basketball. Jesuit colleges and universities have long excelled on the court. This year Gonzaga, Georgetown, and Creighton are ranked in the top 25 teams.
Jesuit schools will play each other 80 times this season. The Jesuit Basketball Spotlight program, sponsored by the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities, targets these games as opportunities to publicize the Jesuit educational mission. There are three games tomorrow, including a game between St. Peter’s (my alma mater) and Loyola Chicago in Jersey City. The complete schedule is here.
