Here is a beautiful choral setting of the Anima Christi, the prayer that Ignatius placed at the beginning of the Spiritual Exercises. This is a translation of the Latin:
Soul of Christ, sanctify me.
Body of Christ, save me.
Blood of Christ, inebriate me.
Water from the side of Christ, wash me.
Passion of Christ, strengthen me.
O good Jesus, hear me.
Within your wounds hide me.
Do not allow me to be separated from you.
From the malevolent enemy defend me.
In the hour of my death call me,
and bid me come to you,
that with your saints I may praise you
forever and ever. Amen.
This song is so beautiful to those who real worship the Holy Eucharist, they can peak something good in their lives
Who wrote this? Is there sheet music available? Would love to do with my high school choir.
Simply beautiful…many thanks
A holy man friend of mine has a son who drinks. When the young man drinks, at least he is a friendly drunk.
I told my holy friend that I would pray for him. The line I pray is — “Blood of Christ, inebriate me…”
I find myself listening to Fr. Gelineau’s Psalms a lot lately…

This was a beautiful way to begin the day – with a prayer that I pray daily sung in a deeply inspirational manner. Thank you.
