A great reflection, and the second picture shown is probably what actually happened.
Probably some artist many years ago wanted to better compose his picture so put Joseph on one side, Mary on the other and the Baby in the center, and we’ve been stuck with that mind set ever since.
Next year we’ll put Joseph & Mary together in our house.
