Creativity and Healing in Advent

This week, we’ll be doing an Advent mini-retreat here at dotMagis. Our theme is creativity and healing. We’ll focus on creativity and think about how the same divine power that brought us the Christ Child in the manger also infuses our lives and gives us the power to be creative. And it also gives us the power to bring healing, to create something new out of something that is difficult for us.

Watch the video below to learn more about creativity and healing.

Explore your own creativity through coloring with God’s Wonderful Word or through writing with The Art of Spiritual Writing.

How will you practice creativity and healing this Advent?

  1. That message is a wonderful gift. I enjoyed it this morning while having my coffee and gazing at our Christmas tree, the fiftieth tree we’ve decorated in this house. Many lovely memories!

  2. Thank you Vinita and may your Christmas be a Blessed one. I just noticed the comment I made Last year. If I really told you my situation(It actually was not quite as bad as it is now) However, God must be keeping me here so long for a very good reason; the rest of the world and probably me too is not co-operating. (Trying not to lose my sense of humor, which used to be pretty good. Now I am almost a hermit, so I have to watch Mass online and do most of my praying alone; because that is just the way my life has changed, with health problems.I gave away most of my Christmas Decorations. Last year I put out the Best Wreath I kept and it was taken. I really hoped they enjoyed it. It was for the passersby anyway Ha! Ha! I love being able to see you and love all the Reflections of yours I have read. God Bless you And keep you safe. A.M.D.G.

  3. Thank you for this lovely message. I too have similar ways of celebrating , healing and grieving with special little things – memories of past experiences which are meaningful to this day.
It is a message after my own heart – I feel as if someone just wrapped me in a comforting blanket, valued because my actions are acknowledged as being good.
    Thank you.

  4. Thank you, Vinita for this timely reminder to embrace all our emotions during this Advent and Christmas season. I am processing the grief while I remember the happy times together for many years with my parents. God bless you.

  5. Thank you for reminding me that all of that “memorabilia” that we have kept over the years can & must be used to enlighten and pass on many memories, especially of love ones who have passed.
