Happy Feast Day, St. Ignatius!

Today, on the Feast Day of St. Ignatius Loyola, I offer a prayer.

Creator God, who loves pilgrims everywhere,
thank you for the journey of your saint, Ignatius of Loyola,
who marked the path for those of us who follow his example in following Jesus.
Thank you for drawing Ignatius to your grace and to a life of spiritual discovery.
Thank you for teaching him about prayer so that he could teach us.
Thank you for using a person so obviously imperfect,
so that we could have hope for ourselves.
May we continue on our journeys—as individuals and as the Church—
following Ignatius’s example of persistence, humility, courage, and gratitude.
May we grow to love you more dearly with every step we take.
May we invite others to walk with us,
and may we become loving and faithful companions to all who journey toward you.
Amen.

We have reached the final day of 31 Days with St. Ignatius. Enjoy What I Like about Ignatius Loyola by Jim Manney.

Celebrate the feast on social media this weekend using the hashtag #31DayswithIgnatius. How has Ignatian spirituality influenced you?

  1. happy feast day to all the Jesuits priest, decon and brothers who’s hearts are given fully to follow the footsteps of st.IGNITIOUS of loyola

  2. Without realizing what day it was I was able to celebrate my last three days by the gift of having my children with me!
Everyday I saw Christ and was filled with Love and Gratitude for that wonderful gift ! To see how my Grandson has grown and the relationship he has with his Father ( my oldest ) ! And how my behavior has changed around them by not being so full of advice and instead just simply loving them and laughing with them and being able to see God in them !

  3. St. Ignatius has changed my life like no other saint. I have learned to follow his concept of disordered attachment. In so doing it has allowed me to completely detach from all things that have stood in the way of my recognizing the presence of God in all things. I have learned to be daily grateful for the most simplistic things in my life, to be aware of my feelings, to learn when my feelings are guided by the Holy Spirit or by my own selfish wants. It has allowed me to then change my view of my actions and then allow the Holy Spirit to govern my thoughts as much as humanly possible. The tremendous peace I now have is without price.
Thank you so much for your wisdom, St. Ignatius!

  4. I thank God for the faithfulness and commitment of Saint Ignatius to our Lord. Saint Ignatius’ teachings have made a great difference in my life.
