Welcome to dotMagis

You’ve arrived at dotMagis, the blog of IgnatianSpirituality.com.  New blog, new website.  What are they all about?

IgnatianSpirituality.com is intended to help everyone understand and benefit from the spiritual insights of Ignatius Loyola.  These ideas can help you pray, make decisions, and discern God’s presence in your life.  Ignatian spirituality can be a practical guide to daily living.  This site is your pathway into all things Ignatian.

If you think that’s not a modest goal, you would be correct.  That’s where the “magis” part comes in.

“Magis” is a Latin word meaning “more” in the sense of “to greater extent.”  Ignatius Loyola used it often to encourage fellow Christians to give more of themselves to God, to strive for the best, to reach beyond themselves.  In the Ignatian world over the centuries, “magis” has taken on the connotation of a continuous striving for excellence.

The dotMagis blog will look for these signs of excellence in the world of Ignatian spirituality and Jesuit ministry.  We will provide news, commentary, and some entertainment as well.  DotMagis is a community too.  Join in.
